ABOUT KEN

Hi, I am Ken Morrow. I am proud to say that I was born and raised in Texas, that I attended public schools, public junior college, and then University of Texas at Austin. I have been married to my lovely wife, Carolyn, for 25 years and have four exceptional children.

My children attended a combination of private Christian schools in their early years and public schools thereafter. My oldest son graduated from Gonzales High School and after studying wildlife management at SWTJC is a professional hunting guide at the OX Ranch in Uvalde. My oldest daughter also graduated from Gonzales High School and will complete a bachelor's degree at Texas A&M this year and plans to continue to nursing school. My second daughter is graduating this year and headed to ORU in Oklahoma for her studies. My youngest daughter is unique in that she is the strongest athlete in the group and had the distinction of being in a dual language program in Gonzales schools in 3rd through 5th grade.

I have been a home builder for about 15 years and prior to that was involved in hi tech in Austin for about 10 years and had a good bit of time working in restaurants during high school, college and some time afterward.

We have been actively involved in both our community and in our local churches for the past 20 years. Carolyn and I have consistently served in Children’s ministries, ushering, lawn mowing, and greeting, and I have kind of been a go-to guy for repairs and construction in the churches that we have been involved in.

When we moved to Gonzales from Austin in 2002, we fell in love with the charm, the people and the community. A traffic jam in Gonzales is getting stuck at the light because the car in front of you has his window open and is talking to someone in the downtown next to him on the sidewalk.

In Gonzales, we were involved in the beginning of Grace Christian Academy where I served as director for five years. (My qualifications were pretty exceptional, in that I showed up at the first meeting with questions, and those questions showed just the kind of leadership and skills required for the person who should be leading this new ministry.

We were founding members of Two Rivers Bible Church in Gonzales where we served and participated for about eight years, then on to Faith Family Church where our whole family serves and attends with Pastor Forrest Hamilton and Pam Hamilton.

I currently work as an agent with Globe Life, and I am having the time of my life visiting small businesses and providing insurance to working men and women.

I am running to represent you on the Texas State Board of Education because I am concerned that the Texas Public Education system is being impacted but teaching materials that are deliberately biased toward a Liberal Agenda. I know that this country was founded by Christians that established a Constitution that is second to none in the world. I am opposed to instruction based on Critical Race Theory (CRT) and radical sex education in schools. It is fairly simple, boys are boys; girls are girls and they should stay in their own gender's sports and locker rooms.
